LET IT GROW CHICAGO for the 4th annual City of Hope NoShaver November campaign to support prostate cancer research at City of Hope.
Toss your razors and instead raise some moolah for a cause! Men, let your ‘staches and beards hit caveman status. We invite you to start a team, join a team or fundraise as an individual.
We’ll support you in your efforts by offering fundraising tips so that you can easily achieve your personal goals and help us reach the $50,000 total team goal.
Our target is for each hair-raiser to set a goal of $250. Everyone who achieves this mark will be invited to our Complimentary Culminating Celebration on Tuesday, November 29 (Giving Tuesday) for special prizes, and awards including:
· Top Hair-Raiser
· Top Hair-Raiser Team average
· Best Beard
· Best Effort
· Most Creative
Your support will have a direct impact on pioneering prostate cancer research. City of Hope’s Drs. Jeremy Jones and Monty Pal have discovered that nearly 50 percent of men with high-risk prostate cancer have Circulating Tumor Cells (CTC’s) that travel through the bloodstream where they can invade other parts of the body and from new tumors. By achieving our $50,000 goal, Drs. Pal and Jones will examine how the DNA of CTCs has changed from the DNA in normal cells. This study will help doctors globally better understand how DNA in CTCs relate to cancer risk and help predict whether a cancer is low or high risk thereby allowing doctors to create a very specific treatment plan for each patient.
We appreciate your support and get ready to retire those razors!
