BENEFITING: TREE HOUSE HUMANE SOCIETY
EVENT DATE: Aug 01, 2015
Tau enriches the lives of everyone she encounters on her travels around Chicago. She has made people laugh with her paw-shakes. She has soothed crying children. She has taught total strangers that cats are friendly--not unlucky, evil, or bad tempered.
Like Tau, every cat has the potential to help the humans they meet and live with. Unfortunately, so many cats never get that chance. Instead, they wait out their too-short lives in too-small cages, waiting for a forever home that never finds them. The story is even sadder for those extra-special cats who need a little extra love and TLC. Tree House helps these cats who are turned away by so many others. There, they find their forever homes or live out their lives in comfort, knowing they are loved.
Tree House also helps the community at large via its low-cost clinic, outreach, animal-assisted therapy, and pet food pantry programs, and it many other ways. Help for Tree House is help for cats, but also the community of Chicago.
