On September 11th 2001 my father, Port Authority police Chief, James Romito went to work. When the towers were attacked he immediatly reported to the scene. He was so incredibly good at his job. He was a true leader. A man who was well respected by all who knew him. He was smart, level headed and extremely humble. He never made it home. As a result of his efforts so many people were able to evacuate safely and return home to their loved ones. On September 27th we will partcipate in the Steven Siller Tunnel to Towers run. Last year #teamromito had 10 members and raised $2,255. My goal is to double our team to 20 and double our fundraising to $4,110. The Siller Family started the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation to honor the memory of their brother, Stephen, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. The goal of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation is to continue Stephen’s legacy by supporting our nation’s first responders and service members. Building for America’s Bravest, a program of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, constructs specially adapted smart homes for our most catastrophically injured service members. Please join #teamromito as we raise money for America's Bravest.
