The Child Center of NY's mission is to strengthen children and families with skills, opportunities and emotional support to build healthy successful lives.
Founded in 1953, The Child Center of NY is one of the city’s leading children’s agencies, helping more than 16,000 children and youth each year. Our staff includes highly trained social workers, educators, case managers, psychiatrists, tutors, and youth counselors who are passionate about helping children.
We provide our vital services at more than 50 locations, including dozens of public schools and community centers, especially in the highly stressed neighborhoods where children need us most.
With our roots in Queens—the most diverse county in America--we have made extraordinary efforts to provide cultural sensitivity throughout our agency. Collectively, we speak an astonishing 25 languages including Chinese, Korean, Farsi, Bengali, Tagalog, Hindi, Creole, and Spanish—reflecting the cultural diversity that defines New York City.
