Once a child has been diagnosed with cancer, their life and the life of their family is changed forever. Childhood Leukemia Foundation has accepted the formidable task of trying to give little bits of joy and normalcies back into the lives of the children we serve. For many children, having cancer requires a repetitive path to doctor visits, hospital stays and painful poking and prodding.
The Keeping Kids Connected program gifts iPads free of charge to hospitalized children battling cancer. This program was designed to function as a communication lifeline and a link to the world outside of the hospital. Each child is able to remain connected to their family, friends and school while actively receiving treatment. Keeping Kids Connected has been recognized by health professionals nationwide as a valuable tool that provides comfort and helps to alleviate fear throughout treatment.
