This school in Naivasha, Kenya supports young children who otherwise would be on the streets begging. This school is their one great hope. See more
BENEFITING: UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
HOURS PLEDGED: 8
Children of Africa is a an outreach mission of the Methodist church in Kenya. I visited the school in February 2010 and took school supplies and clothing. I was on vacation visiting my sister and just picked this missionary from the UMCOR website. Hardly anyone gives to it or even knows about it. There are 100 young children ages 4 - 8 who are the poorest of the poor. But these children are the sweetest children who want to learn. If they did not have the school they would be begging on the streets - this school essentially provides their main meals of the day in addition to an education. The teachers are so caring, but they need supplies. Paper, pencils, bedding, tables, chairs, books, a playground, and bathrooms. I'd love to get some swings actually swinging from the swingset!!!
