BENEFITING: CHILDREN'S SPECIALIZED HOSPITAL FOUNDATION INC
Fun fact: According to my mother, she knew it was time for me to quit playing soccer when I was too busy doing cartwheels on the field to notice the ball flying by me. Soooo....I'm pretty athletic.
Another fun, semi-related, fact: I, for some reason, thought it was a really good idea to run 26.2 miles this November as a participant in the New York City Marathon.
You may ask: "Kelly, are you sure?!? Your ideal weekend involves eating cheese and laying on your couch. Sometimes leaning down to pet your small dog is too taxing for you. What on earth could inspire you to do this?"
My answer: "1. I'm not sure at all. I'm pretty terrified actually. 2. What has inspired me to do this? Raising money for a worthy cause, the Children's Specialized Hospital Foundation! Children's Specialized Hospital is one of the nation's leaders in pediatric inpatient and outpatient care for children birth-21 years. They also happen to be my very awesome employer."I'm looking to raise $2,500 by the time of the race on Novemver 5th. Don't worry, your donation doesn't pay my salary. What it does pay for is helping to fund the programs and projects supporting children with special needs and their families. Please help me meet my goal and give back to some very worthy and very adorable kids!
Running for Children's Specialized Hospital can help each one of our kids reach their fullest and best potential. Children's Specialized is a fully 501c3 nonprofit organization celebrating 125 years of serving kids and is estimated to treat about 30,000 children this year alone. We not only depend but thrive on the generosity and kindness of our community. We would love for you to join or assit our team and become part of our family.
