BENEFITING: PEACE AND JUSTICE CENTER IN
The Peace and Justice Center is working to promote the Fair Trade movement in the Burlington Community through various educational programs. We hosted the 3rd annual Fairtrade Business Forum in Burlington City Hall and have consistently held film screenings and presentations in the area.
We have shown "The Dark Side of Cocoa," a documentary about the use of child slaves in West African cocoa production, in multiple venues with a favorable turn out each time.
Fair Trade is a movement striving for a more just global economy that operates on principles such as transparency, accountability and respect. The Peace and Justice Store sells only Fair Trade goods made by artisans from all over the world. We hope our efforts add to the momentum of the movement and ultimately futher its global progress.
