We are running to raise money for the orphanage: Raising Up Hope for Uganda (RUHU) and their medical account. Raising Up Hope for Uganda is an independent, indigenous, non-political, non - governmental organization with a primary mission to provide education to poor disadvantaged and neglected orphans whose parents have died of HIV/AIDS and to help their families to overcome poverty and hopelessness in Uganda through helping them initiate sustainable income generating projects. http://raisinguphopeforuganda.org/ Childrens Home Chain (CHC) is based here in the United States and is a registered non-profit and 501-3(c) and helps support RUHU. In Uganda malaria kills 350 children every day. On average the Ugandan child suffers from six malaria episode every year according to the "Network Against Malaria". Childrens Home Chain and RUHU provide mosquito netting for the beds for the children but often this is not enough. CHC has set up a medical account, through RUHU, so the children can go to the local medical clinic to get the medical tests and medications they need to fight malaria. Your monies donated - 100% collected will go toward the medical account set up for these children. We run because we want to make a difference in these children's lives. We want them to be able to get treated and have good health. Help us make a difference. Please donate to our run in the Pittsburgh Marathon.
