BENEFITING: Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation
ORGANIZER: Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation
Growing up in PIttsburgh, I can remember Christmastime when KDKA radio would be outside in downtown collecting money for Children's Hospital. All during breakfast we would hear people stopping by, saying hello to Jack Bogut and then later John Cigna, and dropping off their donation. Inspired by those memories, I have decided to help the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation in their fund raising efforts by running in the 2013 Pittsburgh Marathon on 5 May 2013. I will begin my official training program on 14 January 2013. Over the course of the next several months I will log close to 700 miles, all the way from Camp Arifjan Kuwait to Fort Hood Texas and ultimately back home in Pittsburgh.
As a parents of a young daughter, my wife and I are blessed that visits to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh are not part of our life's routine, as it is for so many. It is comforting to know that such a world class facility is there, if the need arises.
By supporting me, you help support outstanding clinical services, research programs and medical education that has helped establish the standards of excellence in pediatric care. From Ambulatory Care to Transplantation and Cardiac Care, talented and committed pediatric experts care for infants, children and adolescents who make more than 1,000,000 visits to Children’s, its many neighborhood locations, and Children's Community Pediatrics practices each year.
I hope you can consider making a donation.
