BENEFITING: CHINESE AGAPE FOUNDATION
Zexi Xu, a 4 year old boy from China, was severely burned on November 30, 2013, while his family was drying rice on their farm. He was playing with some other children in the village when his head, hands and feet were severely burned. Earlier this month, we brought him to Cincinnati Shriners Hospital for burn treatments. We need your help to pay for the costs of this lifesaving care - and 100% of the money raised will go to his care, which includes things like transportation, obtaining required governmental/medical records and approvals.
There are six people in his family: great grandmother, grandparents, parents and Zexi Xu. His great grandmother is 95 years old. His grandparents grow cotton, rice, rapeseed, and vegetables. His father is a truck driver and his mother works on the family farm.
After the accident in 2013, he was admitted to a local hospital in Xiangfan City, Hubei Province. He had emergency tracheotomy but no treatment on his burns. On December 11, 2014, he was admitted to another hospital for burn treatment. He only had one skin-graft surgery and stayed in the hospital for 3 months and then discharged. He needs more surgeries, but his family cannot afford it. As he gets older the scars continue to grow thicker. Cincinnati Shriners Hospital is providing for his care and a wonderful local host family is caring for him.
Our mission is to provide physical care and education for the millions of underprivileged children of China. 365 days a year, the Foundation saves children who are orphaned, abandoned, struggling in abject poverty and often suffering heart conditions and devastating burns. From providing education and a place to call home, to flying them to US hospitals for medical care, our sponsors, partners and volunteers join these children on their journey through life, changing the world each step of the way.
