Tushar has been regularly attending Balvihar classes in Jersey City conducted by the Chinmaya Mission, a non-profit organization formed from the pure and noble goal of H.H. Swami Chinmayananda to share India’s rich spiritual heritage and the fundamentals of Vedanta to the younger generation.
The Mission has countless other projects and study groups for all ages. ( please see www.chinmayamission.com for more details ).
The aim of Bala Vihar is to help children bloom, grow, and inculcate values through fun-filled activities.
Bala Vihar enhances the overall development of the personality of a child at all levels — physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual. Through games, arts, crafts, stories, and other unique techniques, the Balavihar program imparts and reinforces spiritual and cultural values. The curriculum designed for all grade levels is creative and dynamic, and covers a wide range of topics such as: Stories of Ramayana and Bhagavatam, Symbolism in Hindu Culture, Sanatana Dharma etc.
With over 300 Chinmaya centers worldwide, and several in the local tristate area headed by H.H. Swami Shantananda and H.H. Swami Siddhananda (please see www.chinmayavrindavan.org for locations )
Bala Vihar has played a significant part in "...connect[ing] children to Bhagavan. Children should blossom in such a way that they turn to Him not just in need or during difficulties; they should be connected to the Lord at every point in time!" - Swami Tejomayananda
Since the Bala Vihar and other projects are volunteer-led and donation-driven, your contribution will go a long way in sowing the seeds of spiritual values in young minds.
"Children are not vessels to be filled, but are lamps to be lit " - Swami Chinmayananda
