Growing up in small town Colfax, Washington gave me the opportunity to be raised in a tightly knit community and see things with a different perspective than most. When a community member developed cancer, there were many fundraisers put on to help with the cost of medical bills and sign up sheets to send the family meals. After observing this reaction of my hometown, I became involved in raising money for the St. Baldrick's Childhood Cancer Research Foundation and I was amazed at the amount of donations we collected.
I am participating in Miss Greek because I am passionate about raising awareness about cancer and donations for its victims, as I would like to see a similar sense of community here as well. I am thrilled to have been elected the Miss Greek 2016 representative for the Chi Omega sorority and cannot wait to make a profound impact on this local organization!
