Good afternoon and Happy Mot…
Good afternoon and Happy Mother's Day to all those moms out there!
I just wanted to say one last final thank you to all of my supporters. It was a crazy last few months and I couldn't have done it without you. With matching donations we made it to almost $9000! An amazing number since I only joined the Mass Fallen Heroes team in February.
I am so proud to have been a part of the Mass Fallen Heroes and the Charity Teams organization. The marathon was truly an amazing experience and I hope that it is not my last one. I hope to one day run in memory of my father and the suicide prevention and awareness causes.
I have been working on my formal thank you cards and will be sending them out soon! I have ordered some of the prints from the marathon to send out with the cards, so if I don't have your address will you please take a moment to send it to me.
I can't say it too much, Thank you for your support and generous donations! I know there are so many causes out there and it's hard to donate to all of them. But I thank you for supporting my first marathon and the Mass Fallen Heroes. The Gold Star families of MA thank you as well.
The dedication of the memorial is this month on the 27th which I will be attending and the MFH 5k is on the 21st which I will be running in. If you live in MA and want any info on the events of May please let me know. I will be running the half marathon for the Boston Run to Remember as well on the 29th. So a busy next few weeks that I am looking forwards to. I will be continuing to represent the Mass Fallen Heroes:)
Have a great evening and thank you!
Best,

Friends, As 2015 comes to a close, I wanted to thank you all so much for your heartfelt generosity supporting me, Mikey, his family, and Family Reach during the 2015 Boston Marathon. I am happy to let you all know that Mikey has had another stable MRI! Such amazing news! I will not be running the Boston Marathon this year. I will, however, cherish the amazing experience I had this past April, supporting this amazing cause and this courageous boy. I can honestly say, this experience opened my eyes to so much. I thank you all for your tremendous support. I could not have done this without all of you. The need still exists to support Mikey, his family, and so many more....please consider a donation to Family Reach (www.familyreach.org).

I wish you all you all a Happy and Healthy New Year!

All the best,
Rusty

Friends, Monday was a day I will never forget. I had set a primary goal of enjoying everything that this marathon is for me….a celebration of life, family, friends, sport, and the best city in the world. I stopped at mile 1 to hug my nephew, niece, and brother & sister in law. I high fived as many kids as I could. I stopped and hugged 3 people holding “free hugs” signs. I hugged some guy (or girl) dressed as Big Bird. I smooched 3 Wellesley College girls that reeked of vodka. I tapped many signs saying “tap here for power”. I thanked as many volunteers as I could. I spotted and thanked great friends along the course cheering for me. I must have given a half mile straight of high fives at BC. I just looked at the crowds. I thanked the crowds. At the top of Heartbreak Hill (at mile 21) was my family….I stopped and hugged and kissed them all….words can’t describe that feeling. I know what “right on Hereford, left on Boylston” means and understand that you have to experience it to truly understand it.
I started out slow among the hundreds of charity runners. After the first 10K (6 miles) I was on pace to finish at just over 4 hours 30 minutes. I had in the back of my head a goal of coming in under 4 hours…unlikely now….oh well…so I ran. My pace picked up, the crowds picked me up, my family picked me up, Mikey picked me up. I crossed the half at 2:00…still unlikely to break 4 as I had the storied Newton Hills to tackle (which I had never seen)….I kept running….after seeing my family at the top of Heartbreak Hill, it became clear to me that I actually may have a chance of breaking 4 hours…kept running until I crossed the finish line at 3 hours 57 minutes 16 seconds. I could not believe it.

Each and every one of you that have helped support me and Mikey through this journey has showed me the goodness there is in this world. We have raised close to $24,000…THANK YOU! Unfortunately, the need still exists. I ask one last time (won’t you miss me asking you for donations!) if you are able to give one final donation (a $10 donation from each of you will get us over $25,000!): https://www.crowdrise.com/familyreachboston2015/fundraiser/rustybilodeau
You have all humbled me with not only your donations, but your kind words and support over the last 4 months. I cannot thank you enough. I hope I made Mikey proud….I am proud to have represented him….I ran for Mikey.

Friends, Amazing how the rac…
Friends,
Amazing how the race is just a week away! Many of you have asked for my bib number and start time to try to spot me on the course and track my relentless pursuit of Boylston St.
Here's some information:
-Bib # 30427
-Wave: 4, Corral 7
-Start time for my wave will be 11:15AM
-My goal is to spot, high five, and thank any of you willing to come out and enjoy this amazing event - please email me where you might be on the course and I'll seek you out!
-I expect (hope) to keep a 9:00/mile pace through the marathon. Bring your calculators to figure out where you might spot me based on where you on the course.
-If you can't make it out on the course and would rather stay home, drink beer, clean the garage, and check in on me and others running the marathon (this is what I did last year)...here is a useful link: http://www.baa.org/races/boston-marathon/participant-information/att-athlete-alert.aspx

Thank you again SO much for your tremendous support! While we have met the fundraising goal that we set...the financial burdens of families face fighting cancer continue to grow. Please consider one last donation to this amazing cause as we approach Marathon Monday...$10...$20...$50...no amount is too small...it adds up fast...Here is how to donate: https://www.crowdrise.com/familyreachboston2015/fundraiser/rustybilodeau

Hope to see you on the course!
All the best and THANK YOU!!

PS. Sean Astin from The Goonies and Lord of Rings is gaining on us in his fundraising efforts....let's make sure we stay in front! :)

Friends, I wanted to take a …
Friends,
I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for your generosity and support. In just over 2 months, we have raised over $18,000 towards our goal of $20,000 supporting Mikey and Family Reach. There are thousands of individuals that raise money for the Boston Marathon for some amazing charities each year. With the support of all of you, our fundraising efforts so far have us ranked 27th OVERALL on CrowdRise for individual fundraising...this is HUGE!! 27th OVERALL!! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! We are making one last push to break that $20,000 mark. We have seen over 200 donations come in supporting this effort. An additional $10 donation from each of you would put us over this goal. As I have tried to do with this fundraising effort, I'm trying to have some fun and I hope you are as well.

Each year I donate $10 to $20 to someone I don't know...it comes in the form of NCAA March Madness. Typically, I'm down to one Final Four team by the time the sweet sixteen comes around. I rarely know who ends up winning the pool. With that said, I'm running an online pool ($10 per bracket) through ESPN (go here to fill our your bracket!): http://games.espn.go.com/tournament-challenge-brac…/…/group… The good news here is that you know where the winnings are going......they are going to support Mikey and Family Reach. This is a friendly competition....no cash out prizes to the winner...just the feeling that you made a difference. To enter, donate $10 to our fundraiser page: https://www.crowdrise.com/familyreachboston…/…/rustybilodeau and enter "‪#‎mikeysbracket‬ so we know your donation was to enter the bracket challenge. Lift up your couch cushions, raid the change drawer, skip a couple DD coffees, and get in on the fun...we are up over $18,000 toward our goal of $20,000...THANK YOU!!...and PLEASE SHARE!

On behalf of Family Reach, Mikey, and myself, we cannot thank you enough for the support that you have provided. I have personally been humbled by the generosity of so many.

THANK YOU!
