To those who do not know me,
My name is Nikko and I have been involved in The Chive for a few years now and it has been a pretty large part of my life.
It started moreof an interest in the partying, the fun, the funny photos and well of course, the Chivettes...
I quickly realized it was much more than that when I saw the story a baseball field built specifically for children and young teens in need of athletics. But this was no ordinary group of children, it was children with special needs and disabilities with inadequate places to live the childhood each one of them deserved.
The goal of the flash donation and fundraiser was to build a baseball field and area where sports could be played safely and easily accessible as well. Children of all walks of life could enjoy this part of their childhood safely and be apart of something much larger and that in the end, they are all not that different than the children without special needs.
This was my first time donating more than a few bucks to a cause becuase it spoke so close to me. I recall my own childhood with having the luxury of living near a park and field and even a hockey rink. That alone was probably the greatest part of my childhood and to see that there were others whom did not have that, it made me see that I was truely blessed with the oppurtunity that these kids did not.
I became a monthly contributor to the foundation known as ChiveCharities, which in my opinion, is one of the greatest organizations created. The fact that they put their time and effort and resources into causes that would otherwise go unnoticed without them, is something very beautiful.
To anyone who is reading this, give the ChiveCharities a look on Google and see how long you can read the stories of success and triumph without having tears of joy come to your eyes. I know I can't last very long!
Here is the story that changed my view of things.
I am not asking for a lot of anyone specific, any amount seriously helps quite a bit for those who receive the help. Give a lot, give a little, or even just give my fundraiser a share on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook, and that would be a tremendous thing.
Thank you and God Bless.
