Chive Charities has a strong history of helping first responders. The very first Chive flash campaign helped a volunteer rescue squad in Fluvanna County, VA.
Last year we launched our inaugural CHIVEK, a virtual 5K fundraiser run in which everyone pledged to run, walk, bike or crawl 3.1 miles for the underdogs. By pledging $30 or $60 and then raising money online via friends and family, over $125,000 was raised for Chive Charities. In light of recent events with Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma, they can use our help more than ever.
This year, we are still raising money for Chive Charities, but funds from this year’s CHIVEK will go directly to first responders and hurricane relief efforts.
People just have to register to run a 5K (aka donate either $30 or $60), fundraise for a month, and then jog, walk, Pokemon Go, do a beer run a month later and boom, you’ve helped Chive Charities help first responders. Race week is October 23-27, so you have time to raise money!
Here’s how to do it.
Register: from the ChiveK homepage on CrowdRise, Click REGISTER.
Select which Chive Chapter you would like to represent (Chive Nation is the “general” team if you do not wish to affiliate with a specific Chive Chapter) then complete the form and select which level you wish to run at.
$30 Gold Level - Exclusive ChiveK T-shirt from The Chivery
$60 Green Level - ChiveK T-shirt and the Official Second Annual ChiveK Runner’s Medal
*NOTE: To receive shirts by the run week of October 23rd, registrations must be in by Sept. 29. The following day, we will send out your registration incentives. Fundraise: After you’re registered, it’s time to campaign! Get to work for the underdogs and start sharing your fundraising link on Facebook, Twitter, or anywhere that allows you to connect with friends and family who would like to contribute to the cause.
