For those who have lost their voice, Chive Charities provides them a megaphone. For those who have lost independence, Chive Charities restores their freedom. For those who have lost all hope, Chive Charities works tirelessly to build them a better future.
If Chive Charities is the heart of theCHIVE, then Chive Nation is surely its backbone. Together, we can make an impact that will span far beyond the dreams Special Kids Care had when they first heard that help would be coming their way.
Special Kids Care has one mission: INCLUSION FOR ALL. They provide loving care to ALL children, INCLUDING those who face developmental, emotional, or physical challenges so that parents may work or attend school. They are also the only non-profit, special needs childcare center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, so for many families, Special Kids is the only option for special needs care, resulting in an hour plus drive for parents and caregivers just to get their kids there.
SKC serves children ages newborn to nineteen years of age with physical, mental, and emotional needs, as well as typically functioning kids. The Special Kids program offers early learning, summer enrichment and before and after school programs. Additionally, they offer on-site speech, occupational, behavioral and physical therapy so that parents do not experience work disruptions and children may be seen in an environment in which they are comfortable.
Special Kids Care is a grassroots non-profit. They struggle to keep their center open, to provide their children with the qualified staffing, classrooms, supplies, and up to date equipment necessary for a successful program. Their goal is this: to create a special needs playground that is universally accessible! Their dream is to build a playground that mirrors the needs of all of their children.
The children at Special Kids Care do not see differences...they see friends. Please help them make it possible to create a space where no one is left sitting on the sidelines.
