Chloe was born full term but not without complication. In April of 2013 while I, Chloe's mom, went into the hospital, still pregnant, because I had noticed that I had not felt Chloe kick for a few hours. Little had I known, I was having contractions 2 minutes apart and not feeling anything. Each contraction caused Chloe's heart rate to drop and after being in the hospital for nearly 4 hours, her heart stopped. I was rushed into cesarean where Chloe was revived after approximately 10 minutes without oxygen and 2 shots of epinepherine. As a result of the lack of oxygen, Chloe now has cerebral palsy due to the damage done to the mobility portion of her brain. Chloe is beginning to require costly equipment in our efforts for rehabilitation and hope for independence. Chloe is a very intelligent girl and we (her parents) wish to provide her the opportunity to have as much independence as possible. We've started this fundraiser in hopes of paying for ankle braces (AFO's) to help her walk, a SPIO to help her hopefully gain some core strength and sit independently, a feeding chair so that she has support while eating which will lessen the risk of aspiration (food going into her lungs), a bath chair, possibly an in home communication device, and an electric wheelchair which therapists are hopeful that Chloe will be able to navigate on her own within the next year! The only current charges I know are for the AFO's estimating to be around $350 and the spio is just over $200. Chloe is nothing short of a blessing in our lives and we've set up this fundraiser for those who would like to help. Please take the time to share the link! Thank you!
