Below: FAQ about Donations
Q. Are donations to the Choral Tales Project tax-deductible?
A. Yes. The project’s fiscal sponsor, Artists Building Capacity as World Citizens (or ABC World Citizens), is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit.
Q. Would my donation go to ABC World Citizens, or to the project's artistic director?
A. It would go to ABC World Citizens, the project's non-profit fiscal sponsor. The artistic director does not receive or manage funds. ABC World Citizens receives earmarked donations, provides professional bookkeeping, and handles project expenses.
Q. How do I make a donation to the project?
A. You can donate by credit card online through this CrowdRise page, which earmarks donations for the project and forwards them to ABC World Citizens.
On the right side of this CrowdRise page, there is a large orange rectangle marked “Donate.” When you click on it, it will pull up some simple instructions. You can choose whether your name and the amount donated appear on the web site. In any case, ABC World Citizens will receive the information.
Or you can contact ABC World Citizens directly, at http://abcworldcitizens.org/Wordpress/contact-us/
Their mailing address is:
ABC World Citizens, 1950 Lafayette Road, Suite 304, Portsmouth, NH 03801 USA.
Q. What is CrowdRise?
A. CrowdRise is a service that facilitates online fundraising, similar in nature to Kickstarter. Our fiscal sponsor has chosen CrowdRise as the platform to raise funds online for the Choral Tales Project. CrowdRise works exclusively with registered non-profit organizations (501c3). It is used by many of the most reputable non-profits, including the Red Cross and the New York Marathon.
Q. Why not start the project with the funds already on hand?
A. By requirement of our non-profit sponsor, we can begin the project only after the complete budget has been raised.
Q. What will the funds be used for?
A. To pay for production expenses of professional participants such as the choral director, choir, choreographers, dancers, audio engineer, video production team, and web designer.
Q. What if the donation I can afford is a modest amount?
A. The project is energized by the participation of all who want to be a part of it. We are grateful to receive donations of any size you feel moved to give. $20 or more from each of the project's many sympathizers would be a wonderful help.
Q. What is the "optional processing fee" that CrowdRise asks for?
A. If donating online through this CrowdRise site, you'll find there's an "Optional Processing Fee," listed in orange. If you wish, you can click on the orange words, which are a link, and set the processing fee to zero.
