Chris Dewey Swim-A-Thon
Organized by: Melissa Trail
June 13, 2016
EVENT DATE Jul 09, 2016
On December 22th, 2015 the Pound Ridge Swim Team lost our beloved Alumnus and Coach Chris Dewey at the age of 28. This summer the Dolphins want to honor his passion, heart and commitment to swimming and changing the lives of all kids around him by hosting The First Annual Chris Dewey Swim A Thon.
Each swimmer, coach or parent pledges to swim for 1 hour in his memory. The Dolphins will kick, pull, swim and have dolphin pride while swimming in the memory of our beloved Coach Chris on Saturday July 9th starting at 8 AM! All who donate to this cause will be invited to our breakfast on that morning to cheer on all those swimming and to help us honor Chris's memory!
Chris was a resident of Pound Ridge, swam for the Dolphin’s as a kid and grew up to be the head coach of The Pound Ridge Dolphins and Pool Director of the Pound Ridge Pool. His passion in life can truly be found with the children he inspired in and out of the pool. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved nature and its beauty. He cherished the time with his friends in the outdoors as much as his time at the pool with kids.
Chris was one of a kind, his personality and enthusiasm inspired the swimmers he coached. Chris’s commitment to swimming and the successful of each and every athlete, alongside his drive to be the most spirited coach on the deck is something we will truly miss.
All money raised at The Chris Dewey Swim A Thon will aid The Pound Ridge Swim Team to remember Chris and his love for swimming, the outdoors and dogs of all shapes and sizes, by donating to a Adopt A Dog, a local shelter in the area and also starting a yearly team bonding event at the Pound Ridge Ward Reservation.
By donating to this cause you will help our team carry on the spirit and pride of what it means to be a Pound Ridge Dolphin, a good teammate and strong leaders in our community.
Thank you and Go Dolphins!
