Breast cancer has invited itself into my family more than once. It is a terrifying and unwanted guest in anyone's life. I have seen the women I love struggle and I have seen those same women hold their heads high and say without a doubt they will win the battle, and they did just that. I believe that there are so many things that can test you throughout your life and some of those things will have you second-guessing if you really want to continue this battle or you could take the easy way out by not fighting at all. I myself was faced with that choice not by cancer but by the amputation of my right leg. It was unexpected and I am the living example of the phrase "I woke up like this". When I finally crawled my way out of the dark I had a decision to make. I have been fighting bare fisted everyday since that fateful day. I saw all of the loving faces of my extraordinary family and friends. I had a support system that I knew would stand and fight with me. I have all of those people that I am grateful to and I will never let them down. I had a tattoo placed on my right leg with the quote "I did not survive fate to live on my knees, I will stand and fight". We all have so many battles and we all fight more than most people know I'm sure. Unfortunately there's not but so much you can do with your strength, hope, and Faith. We need all of the generous donations we can possibly get. Raising the money to fund the research that will one day eradicate this monster that preys on the people we love. I know that if I can put my leg on every morning and fight through the pain everyday then someone throughout the day may see me and just maybe will think 'Hey if she can fight, I can fight'. So now I need to appeal to all of you who want to help protect all of the beautiful women in your life ( along with their beautiful boobies of course), whip out your credit card or your checkbook and make a donation that will make you feel good because you will know that when this monster is taken down then you can pat yourself on the back for playing an important role in it.
