BENEFITING: Team Blueline, Inc.
"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13
As police officers, we don't think about these words, yet we live them every day. Whether selflessly answering a call to help another officer or citizens we don't know, the courage exemplified by officers should be honored. This fundraiser is important to me as I've personally known several officers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. Their families have remained strong, but not without the help and faithfulness of their friends, coworkers, and communities.
This year, after coming back from an injury, I'll be running three Spartan Races with Team BlueLine to raise money to help officers that have given all of themselves. In 2017 Team BlueLine will be racing and fundraising for two officers that were critically injured in the line of duty. Deputy Sheriff Nick Tullier of the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office was one of the officers ambushed in Baton Rouge incident in July of 2016. Nick was shot multiple times and was not expected to survive. He still has a long road ahead of him. Also on the list for this year is Hazelwood, Missouri Police Officer Craig Tudor. On August 25th, 2016 he was responding to an "officer need of aid call” when a vehicle pulled out in front of him as he was running code. The impact sent his vehicle into a ditch which caused it to roll several times. Craig’s vehicle came to rest on its roof and he needed to be cut out of the vehicle. Craig is paralyzed from the chest down from this vehicle crash.
Help me support and honor the officers who gave all and the families of these brave officers who have given so much of themselves.
