As some of you may know I had a heart procedure at Mass General Hospital in the Summer of 2014. The care I received was outstanding and since then I have been working hard to get back into shape on foot and on my bike. So I was delighted to have the opportunity to join the MGH Emergency Response team, not only to give back to Mass General and their incredible people for caring for me, but also to acknowledge the care their ER team provided in the aftermath of the bombing at the Boston marathon in 2013. Something which struck at the very core of what it means to be a Bostonian on Patriots Day. Please support me in supporting them and at the same time achieving a lifetime goal of running a marathon - not just any marathon - but the Boston marathon!
I am running in memory of my father William Macpherson Steel who died of a stroke 21 years ago.
