FIGHTING FOR: The Sato Project
Chrissy is a fighter in more ways than one. In addition to being a Golden Glove winning boxer, she fights on behalf of the abused and abandoned dogs of Puerto Rico with The Sato Project, the non-profit she founded a number of years ago (and that's beneficiary of our July 19th event!).
Chrissy is fighting in honor of a very special dog - Victor Amor. Victor was dumped on Dead Dog Beach on Mother's Day this year. He was completely emaciated, anemic, had horrific mange and did not even have the strength to stand up. He was rushed to the emergency veterinary hospital where Chrissy was told that his condition was so bad and his prognosis so grave that he should be humanely euthanized. Chrissy named the dog Amor (Love) and begged him to fight. The attending Vet, Dr. Victor Alicea agreed to try and save him. Amor was renamed Victor Amor in honor of the man who worked tirelessly along side our Sato Project Vet, Dr Bianca Aguirre to nurse this incredible dog back to health.
Chrissy will be walked to the ring to fight on July 19th by the dog The Sato Project considers their greatest triumph to date - Victor Amor
