I am Dorothy Noble-Fairbairn, wife of Bill Fairbairn, and mother of Molly and Jeff Noble.
On July 2, 2009, Molly died of a brain bleed at the age of 26. She had just recently signed up to be an organ donor, and on July 4, 2009, she saved the lives of 5 total strangers.
In memory of Molly, I am in the process of becoming a living donor; donating one of my kidneys to a young woman I met a couple of months ago. Her name is Chrissy and she needs a kidney NOW! Although I am technically not compatible to be her donor, we are involved with the Mayo Clinic's Paired Exchange program, and once another incompatible pair is located (who are compatible with us), we will "exchange" kidneys. I will give mine to someone else, their donor will donate to Chrissy. It could take a few pair before we have all the right matches.
Molly didn't have a chance to see the changes she made in so many people's lives, but because of her, now more lives will be saved.
Please take the time to learn about becoming a Living Donor and see what a difference YOU can make.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you in advance for any help you can give.
