Christian City is a very special place - rooted in the commitment of Christians to express the love of Jesus Christ to everyone who comes to us, regardless of their faith. Some things that distinguish Christian City Children's Village from other similar programs:
100% high school graduation rate, which is critical to break the cycle of generational poverty;
children are placed in specialized private schools selected to meet the particular needs of each child;
full-time houseparents serve as a ministry, giving up other careers to dedicate their lives to offering a chance for kids in crisis to experience a healthy, loving home;
in addition to accepting children in the care of the state, Christian City also accepts private placements, many of whose parents are unable to contribute to the cost of their care, but allowing families the opportunity to address stressors and problems in the home that could ultimately result in removal of their children if not addressed;
the state of Georgia scorecard recently graded Christian City Children's Village with 108 out of 100 - with additional recognition for our successes reuniting families through mentorship and counseling;
our Host Family program offers families a mentorship relationship with a child, building lasting bonds that extend well beyond the child's time in our care;
our program for runaway and homeless youth is part of the national Safe Place network where our goal is to reach children on the street before sex traffickers can get to them;
many of our retired house parents live in senior housing on our campus and have maintained life-long relationships with the children who came into our cottages.
We need to raise $2.5M each year from the private sector to provide these services. Won't you join us in this rewarding work by making a gift to help kids in crisis.
