BENEFITING: TURNING POINT PREGNANCY RESOURCES CENTER INC
EVENT: 2016 RACE FOR LIFE
EVENT DATE: Apr 30, 2016
As many of you know, my heart has been strongly pulled this year toward the cause of protecting our unborn children. Like many of you, I watched in horror last fall as the videos detailing some of the horrible practices in abortion clinics were released. I still cry thinking of those precious children treated as if they are trash to be discarded or dissected. Somewhere in all the commentary, I read that 58 million innocent babies have been murdered since Roe vs. Wade. 58 million. The Holocaust, one of the most despicable genocides in modern history saw the murder of six million Jews. As a student of history, I have often thought, how could their countrymen stand by and let their fellow citizens be slaughtered by the millions? Yet there I sat, doing nothing to address the mass genocide of those in my country. I can no longer sit by and watch….
Having spent much of my career in the political arena, my first thought was to attempt something there, but I chose to get involved locally, to work to help my own city’s unborn children. Late last year, I began volunteering for Turning Point Crisis Pregnancy Center, a non-profit medical clinic that offers free early pregnancy medical services, compassionate consultation and a core of programs specifically designed for women dealing with an unexpected, challenging, or unwanted pregnancy. The Center is directly next to a clinic that offers abortions, literally placing us in the path of women seeking abortions. The women who come to the clinic are often scared, uncertain, and considering making an emotional, devastating decision. Our team of dedicated professionals comes alongside to provide help in a compassionate, non-judgmental manner. Through our counseling and various program offerings, we desire to see each woman supported, strengthened, and ultimately, to choose life for her tiny unborn child.
This year, I am helping the clinic to plan its first ever 5K, raising funds to support the mission. Would you consider sponsoring me?
