I didn't know much about bone marrow donation until my brother-in-law, Allen, needed a bone marrow transplant. We were blessed that a match was found. The man who donated his bone marrow was someone we didn't know. This man gave us the gift of hope and gave Allen a chance to live. Unfortunately Allen lost his battle with cancer. I was so inspired by his donors selflessness that I am now registered with Be The Match to be a potential bone marrow donor. It would be an honor to be able to give another person and their family the same gift that Allen's donor gave us. Be The Match is operated by the National Marrow Donor Program and has managed the largest and most diverse marrow registry in the world. They are working every day to save lives through transplant.
