We have all heard about the barbaric dog meat trade that operates in China each year for the Yulin Festival- where dogs are boiled and skinned alive and beaten to death (because they believe the adrenaline makes the meat taste better). They have even resorted to stealing dogs that are people's pets to sell at the market.
Courtney and I have decided that simply condemning these actions from the comfort of our houses is not enough. We have decided to do a run in order to raise money and awareness for the amazing charity Animal Hope and Wellness- who actually travel out to China to actively rescue dogs and try to work with the people of the meat market to pursue a different mindset and career.
Courtney and I will be taking part in the first ever run of our entire lives since middle school but we're doing it for the dogs!
The marathon type run will take place with NYRR on July 27th in Central Park- apparently I am not allowed to say we are running an actual marathon (we would both die if we tried) so we are running a mini marathon, a marathonie (which still might kill us anyway).
So please Ante Up For The Animal, Pay Up For The Pups and Donate For The Dogs!!!
Here is where your money and support will be going- https://animalhopeandwellness.org/
