Fundraising Goal Reached!
April 15, 2016
BENEFITING: Saha Global
EVENT DATE: May 25, 2016
Dear family and friends,
As most of you know, I have taken two formative trips to the Dominican Republic. Your generous support was used to purchase medication and supplies for the 1500 patients that came through our clinics. Most of the illnesses that we treated were caused by water-borne disease due to heavily contaminated water sources. I became passionate about providing clean water to people globally.
Approximately 1 in 10 people still lack access to clean water. Contaminated water sources can transmit diseases such as diarrhea, dysentery, cholera, typhoid and polio. I saw this first hand in the sugar cane villages of the DR.
This summer I will travel to Northern Ghana as a Field Representative for a non-profit organization called Saha Global. Saha works with rural communities to implement water treatment systems that bring clean water to those who need it.
Once in Ghana, I will participate in a vigorous and comprehensive training program designed and led by the Saha Global team. Partnering with a rural community, we will introduce our business concept and its particular health, social and economic benefits. Working with three other Field Reps, we will install the water tanks, train two local women on how purify the water and educate the community on safe water practices. By the end of the three-week program, these businesses will be up and running and the women entrepreneurs will be fully in charge of all operations. The Saha Global team then monitors the business for the next 5 years to ensure long-term success. Saha’s use of simple and locally available technologies makes this approach both realistic and remarkably sustainable.
Having been selected for the Global Leadership Program, my responsibilities include raising approximately $3000 by May 20th to cover the material costs of the water treatment system. I truly appreciate any help you can offer and I will be sure to keep you updated on our work! All gifts are tax-deductable.
If you would prefer, you may write a check payable to Saha Global. Just don’t forget to write my name on the “Memo” line! Checks should be sent to:

Thanks so very much
