BENEFITING: CAMP SUNSHINE AT SEBAGO LAKE
EVENT: RHODE ISLAND POLAR DIP
EVENT DATE: Feb 15, 2014
Camp Sunshine supports children with life threatening illnesses and their families. Since its inception, Camp Sunshine has provided a haven for over 40,500 individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Families with a child diagnosed with diseases such as cancer, kidney disease, lupus, solid organ transplants, and other life threatening illnesses attend one of the week-long camps. Our focus is on alleviating the strain that a life threatening illness takes not only on the sick child but also on other family members. Families have an opportunity to rebuild their relationships together and meet other families facing similar challenges.
Camp Sunshine is pleased to announce the 2014 Rhode Island Polar Dip. We believe that together we can send many more children with life-threatening illnesses and their families to our one-of-a kind retreat in Maine.
With the strength of an event such as the Rhode Island Polar Dip and the resources of Camp Sunshine, it is our goal to raise in excess of $20,000 in 2014. That is enough to send 10 Rhode Island families to Camp Sunshine!
