EVENT: RED SHOE WALK 2016
EVENT DATE: Oct 23, 2016
For the last five years I have supported the Ronald McDonald House through the annual Bag Ladies Luncheon that is held each fall. Nearly two years ago, my husband Philip and I had identical twins at MUSC. They arrived four weeks premature at barely four pounds each. For the following three weeks, we lived at MUSC. They were in the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) and we learned the value firsthand, of being able to sleep, eat, and bathe within minutes of our precious children. Thankfully we lived very close to the hospital and did not need RMH; but we now fully appreciate the value of having that love, comfort, rest, and support during such a difficult experience. You cannot put a dollar amount on it. I ask that you find it in your heart and pocket to give that security and ease of mind to the many parents who will not know you, but who will know, as I did, how much it means to have the support of a place to call home during their difficult times. The simple comforts we can take for granted each day, can give parents the fortitude to be there for their little ones and make it through their struggle. If ten dollars is what you can do, it counts and I thank you. Simcha and Ziva thank you, along with thousands more yet to come. Thank you.
