Christina's Haiti Missions Trip
Organized by: Christina Peterson
EVENT DATE May 25, 2014
Even before the 2010 earthquake, Haiti was the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Now, the rubble of crushed homes still lies everywhere. Unable to rebuild their homes, many Haitians live in tent cities that sprawl across the country, even in the medians of roads!
The Haitian economy lies in ruins as well. Eighty percent of the population falls under the poverty line, and many rely on foreign aid for food because they do not have enough money. People live in fear of diseases that are unimaginable to most Americans.
Corruption, crime, and the black market prevent Haiti’s people from working to rebuild the country on their own. False gods and dark religions lure people deeper into darkness.
This is where I come in! I've witnessed first hand all of the corruption and poverty in Haiti on my last trip in December 2013. I have developed a heart for the Haitian people as well as many relationships there.
I will be helping at an orphanage by supplying care for them. As well as helping a church reach out into the village it's in and bringing kids and families to Christ and showing them a brighter hope for their life!
Any amount you could give will help out the cause and is also a way for you to help support countries like Haiti without even going!
I will be going with Adventures In Missions. Adventures is an interdenominational missions organization that focuses on discipleship. They emphasize prayer and relationships in their work amongst the poor. If you would like to learn more about the organization go to: http://www.adventures.org/about/index.asp?iname=missions#
Every dollar that is raised will go towards the trip cost to Adventures and the airfare.
Join with me in praying for big things to happen through this trip and that God would have His hand in everything. Thank you so much! :)
