Starting late, I don't think that I will have the exact same experience as everyone leading up to fighting on fight night, but how could I have said no? Haymakers for Hope is nothing but opportunity. It gives me the chance to legitimately fight to help find a cure for cancer. I get to be a part of KO Cancer. As much as this is about fund raising and awareness, Haymakers is so much more.
Cancer is a disease that hits too close to home and to way too many people. If you're not directly affected then your indirectly affected... Maybe it was you... We all have our own stories and a common factor is feeling helpless. This is our opportunity to feel like we have some power over the situation, we are strong, and we can FIGHT! We can make a difference and we are capable of anything. Stepping into the ring is scary and it's a battle; I am choosing to step in for all of those people who did not have a choice in their fight, for all of the women next to me who are brave enough to do the same.
