Christine's Double Lung Transplant
Organized by: Michalene Posel
Christine has been enduring a lifelong struggle with a rare autoimmune disorder called Hyper IgE or Job's syndrome (http://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/condition/job-syndrome). One of the characteristics of the illness is recurrent infections of the lungs. Christine had most of one of her lungs removed when she was 2. The remaining lung has deteriorated over time to the point where breathing is very difficult. She has been hospitalized 5 times in the past year alone.
In April, she was approved to receive a double lung transplant at Temple Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA, after being denied in her hometown by University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Because costs associated with transplant can be substantial and ongoing, we are hoping the funds for the life long care she will need are one thing she will not have to worry about.
Christine is a kind, thoughtful woman who is lucky to be given this life-saving opportunity for a transplant. Please consider donating to her. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Christine and our family are blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives.
