Hey Team Awesome!!

Couple of announcements.... (que music!)
1) Mountain Hardwear has sponsored our team!! The shirts are at the printer getting the cool awesome LETS SF Marathon logo emblazoned on them. You can pick your shirt up Saturday at the Expo. We'll have a one hour window and we'd like everyone to arrive during that time so we can take a group pic. Mountain Hardwear would like to use that pic for their site and marketing material. Sweeeeeet!!
2) We've had some requests to get together for a gut-busting carbo loading dinner the Friday evening before the race. Please RSVP ASAP so we can determine how many will be attending. My email: phil@lets.org I'll get you the venue by the middle of next week. It'll be in SF not far from the Embarcadero.
3) We're also planning on a after party lunch around 1:30pm on Sunday after the "fun". RSVP as well if you're interested in attending.
3) My last email sparked a heated debate on weather the Lucky Charms marshmallows were truly the secret to endurance running recovery. The debate is over: my team one. Just cuz.

Be AWESOME!

I am the Aunt of Christine Suchy and I am so proud she has decided to become a member of this amazing cause. I have 2 little children, and at even at such a young age, they are surrounded by the daily struggles of our environment. Awareness at every level is the first step. Your Aunt, Uncle and 2 little cousins wish you the best of luck...and some day we hope they too will follow in your footsteps and become a part of such a great cause!

Hey LETS Run Team!!!
If you're like me these days, you're sitting at your desk with ice strapped to your knees, and a double espresso in hand to ensure your head doesn't suddenly slam down on your desk due to nonstop fatigue from all this ridiculous marathon training regimen stuff. During these fun times, I've discovered that high doses of Lucky Charms marshmallow bits (forget the cereal it's tasteless and has zero nutritional value) are the best post-training body replenishing food source. Better than trendy Pinole without the cinnamon tongue side effects. All seriousness aside, I'm truly stoked to meet each of you at the Expo, Saturday July 28th, the day before the race. We will meet you sometime between 12pm-3pm. At this moment we don't have the exact time, so I'll get that to you later this week. In the meantime keep fundraising and if you have a little extra time to train, then fine do that as well.
Be awesome,

Stuff About Me:

Hey Everyone!

I'm happy to announce that I will be running my second marathon this upcoming summer on behalf of Let's Erase the Stigma (LETS).

Do you know the third leading cause of death for young people ages 15 to 24?

The answer is suicide.

Out of 100,000 kids……20.5 of those ages 10 to 24 will die by suicide in just 1 year (that we know of). For every completed suicide, there are another 11 attempts that we don’t hear about.  Many others aren’t reported. Why? STIGMA.

For this marathon, I am running in memory of two friends of, Bradley Helt and Michael Gannon, who both committed suicide in the spring of 2012.

I swam with Bradley on the Wilton Y Wahoos throughout my high school years, and every day at practice he brought laughs and smiles into my life. We all miss him so dearly and keep praying for him and his family. To older kids, he seemed like an younger brother, and to younger kids, he was a great role model. I know he'll be looking over all of us now as not a day goes by without me and everyone that knew him, thinking about his impecable personality.

I also swam with Michael on the Boston College Varsity Swim Team our freshman year and I played club water polo for Boston College, as did Michael. His calm and quiet, yet energetic and enthusiastic personality always made my day brighter when I passed him on campus or at practice. He will forever be dear in my heart and I will miss him for many, many years to come.

Together, let's erase the stigma. Can't wait to run this for these two impactful men in my life!
