Christmas wish that I wasn't able to fulfill...
Organized by: Sladjana Orec
Hi and thank you for taking the time to read this post. This fundraiser is being setup on behalf of my friend, Lee who is a kind and very generous person, always there for others and willing to help no matter what. On December 8th Lee got in a car an accident; a dog jumped on the street right in front of his vehicle. He, who loves animals himself, tells me, "I couldn't live with myself if I run over and possibly kill someone's pet; the only other option was to swerve from the road, which is what I did." It happened around 11pm in the evening on 12/08vas he was called and asked to visit a close friend who attempted to take her own life. On his way home while taking one of the side streets the dog jumped in front of his car and a decision had to be made in a split second. Lee swerved from the road hoping he would go around the dog. However, it was raining all day and the street was too slick for him to regain the control of the vehicle causing him to crash in the nearest fence. He tells me, he is grateful he didn't hit the dog and very lucky that he wasn't killed or badly injured himself but as for his vehicle it's unfortunate but the car was badly damaged. The cost to repair it was estimated to at least $6,000. Lee is disabled and barely able to make ends meet from month to month let alone to be able to come up with that kind of money. He does have liability insurance which will cover the repair of the fence but not his vehicle. His car was given to him by his mother who passed away 4 years ago and that's the only thing he has from her. His car is not the kind of vehicle he would pick to drive if he had a choice but the fact that it belonged to his mother makes it special as "it’s part of mom." I feel bad and I want to help him to get his vehicle repaired as he is not able to walk very far and transportation is becoming a challenge. I stumbled upon this site by accident so I thought it wouldn't hurt to give it a try. I have faith that there are people out there that can help me raise money for his car repair. Anything you are able to offer, no matter how big or small, money wise or just a kind post note will be greatly appreciated and cherished. Merry Christmas to everyone and God bless… Thank you very much! --Sladjana
