The Borgen Project:
I am a writer for The Borgen Project and an advocate for the poor. At the Borgen Project we campaign for increased foreign aid because we realize that eliminating poverty globally is not limited to the people we help in other countries. It’s an investment that boosts the American economy and creates jobs for everyone. It makes a world of difference, for everyone. So, contribute today and invest in humanity! Its an honorable thing to do and plus, helping the poor helps us!
I am a full-time undergraduate at Cleveland State University majoring in urban studies and minoring in sociology and sustainable urban development. I have always been an advocate in a way. In elementary school, I stood up for the “weird” kid that was picked on. In high school, I stopped fights in the cafeteria. In college, I learned as much as I could about the underdog. Through all this, I broadened my understanding of people and the importance of advocacy. This “attitude of advocacy,” if you will, was not focused on particular groups, nations or individual cultures but more importantly on humanity as a whole. In short, people are global and I see no reason to limit our passion to geographical boundaries or national identification. It’s this sense of humanity that guided my interests toward everyone, in every place.
