To explain my personal motivation for the fight, I first have to tell you about Adrian Rufo. Adrian was that guy in high school that you couldn't help but love and be totally jealous of. Gorgeous, charismatic, better at every sport than you. I think I honestly saw girls cry if he forgot to say hi to them while walking down the halls. He was that guy none of us understood -- he could bench press more than anyone on our football team, he was faster than anyone on our rugby and soccer team and even though he was a white guy with my height, he could somehow dunk a basketball -- it was crazy. Adrian Rufo's my best friend.
Two months ago I found out he was diagnosed with stage 1a non Hodgkin's lymphoma, which is basically a tumor the size of a grapefruit on the inner lining of his lungs, a place doctors can't cut it out. He started chemo two months ago. And he's been fighting every day since. He's my best friend. And he's the strongest man I've ever known.
He's going through the fight of his life. The least I can do is get beat up to raise some money for a good cause
