Chromebooks for Guatemalan Students
Organized by: deleted deleted
For 10 years Atitlan Multicultural Academy (AMA) has provided high-quality bilingual education to children in the Lake Atitlan area of the Guatemalan highlands. The school has a dedicated team of teachers from the USA, Canada, Europe, and Guatemala....many AMA students are from low income backgrounds and some are supported by sponsors to attend the school. More than 50% of the students are from Mayan backgrounds. AMA provides a progressive curriculum and a family atmosphere, together with academic rigor from pre-K through 12th grade. AMA's curriculum emphasizes collaborative project-based learning with students able to learn practical and applied skills as well as academic. The school has some equipment but its computers need updating to allow students to learn technology skills and have access to the Internet and web-based educational applications. Many of our students do not have access to computers at home. Please help give these kids the equipment they need to continue to succeed!
