On June 11, 2017, I will participating in the Belmont Lake State Park "Take Steps for Chron's and Colitis" Walk, the nation's largest event dedicated to finding cures for digestive diseased. My personal fundraising goal is $2,500 for this worthy cause and I need your help to reach this goal! First - a bit about me and my relationship with Chron's Disease. I was diagnosed with Chron's Disease over 30 years ago. Over the years I have been in and out of remission, been prescribed numerous medications (some that worked and some that did not) and have had way too many infusion treatments to even think about. The past 2 years have been very difficult with very serious flare ups that required hospital stays and, yet again, new medications that some worked and some did not. Since January 2017, I have been on two different medications that have both failed me. I am currently in search of something that will get me back into remission. But rather sit around and worry, I decided it was time to take action and spread the word about this and other inflammatory bowel diseases and the great work that the Chron's and Colitis Foundation of America does. The CCFA is the leading non-profit organization dedicated to finding cures for these painful and debilitating diseases. They have invested more than $250 million in research while also funding critical patient support and education programs. For the 1.6 million Americans who live with the debilitating effects of inflammatory bowel diseases, nothing is more important than finding better, more effective treatments and ultimately, cures. Take Steps is the foundation's premier walking event raising needed funds for their mission of finding cures and improving the equality of life for patients. This organization has helped me through many difficult times. I have asked questions in their forums, received information from IBD specialists and have shared my story and given advice to other members of the foundation. I ask that you please donate what you can....every dollar will help! Thank you!!!!   You can also donate directly at!
