BENEFITING: FACE-TO-FACE PROJECT INC
EVENT DATE: Apr 25, 2015
The Church-in-the-Gardens World Service Committee will be holding its annual dinner and silent auction to benefit the The Face-to-Face Project that runs the Boeung Kak School in Cambodia. This school inspires a love of learning in underprivileged children at risk while fostering their excitement for learning. Some 60 plus boys and girls attend four classes daily. There is a kindergarten and a music class, plus the children are taught hygiene, ethics and social skills. Meals and uniforms are provided. Our church donations cover at least 75% of their yearly costs. As a key mission of the World Service Committee is education, we feel that this is a very important project.
What to expect:
- 5:30pm - Cocktails and appetizers will be served in the Lounge..
- 6:15pm - Ken Wong, the founder of Face-to-Face, will give a presentation on the program.
- 6:30pm - Dinner, catered by Paul Michael's Café of Kew Gardens, in Room 102. The menu includes chicken marsala, eggplant parmesan, baked lasagna, plus other favorites!
- The silent auction will offer restaurant gift certificates and home cooked dinners you won't want to miss out on!
Want to help?
The cost of the dinner is $40 per person. Ticket sales will begin in early April at both 9:00 and 11:00 am coffee hours. Reservations may be made by calling the church office, at 718-268-6704. Please come out to support this very worthy cause!
If you're interested in supporting our project but can't attend the dinner, we hope you will consider making a financial donation to benefit the Beoung Kok students.
