The Reds Communtiy Fund (RCF) is dedicated to improving the lives of youth by leveraging the tradition of the Cincinnati Reds and the game of baseball. RCF outreach consists of six core programs that allow urban boys and girls to experience baseball and softball while promoting character-building and community service. Since its inception in 2001, the Reds Community Fund has used baseball as a vehicle to reach out to kids. As the nonprofit arm of baseball's first professional team, the Community Fund strives to create programming that connects underserved children with baseball, while creating fundraising programs that connect baseball with the community.  A series of creative, baseball-themed fundraising events and programs provide the necessary funding for Reds Community Fund programming, including the academy. The 2016 schedule features events such as Redlegs Run, Reds Baseball/Softball Camps, Charity Block Party, Baseball 101: A Night of Their Own, Family Catch, Marty Brennaman Golf Classic, Celebrity Poker Tournament and Split the Pot. In addition to these events, the Community Fund actively seeks out relevant grants and continues to build and sustain corporate sponsorships
