BENEFITING: City of Hope
Circle 1500 is a philanthropic support group for the Women’s Cancers Program at City of Hope. Members are cancer survivors, friends and families of cancer patients, and women who care about the future of women’s health. Annual membership dues create a pool of philanthropic support; members vote on a research project to fund each year. The group has the opportunity to follow their project and to learn more about the behind-the-scenes research so important to cancer treatment and cures.
The group considered three projects this year, then voted to support The Pancreatic Nutrition Program. This project examines breast cancer survival and weight control. Participants in the study use blood glucose monitoring to achieve weight control; weight control is a significant factor in recurrence of breast cancer and in preventing the disease.
With your help, we can increase the funding for Circle 1500 and provide critical pilot project funding to further the research in women’s cancers. Without our support, these projects would not get funded. Your contribution makes a difference, and contributes to the powerful partnership between scientists at City of Hope and caring advocates for women’s health like you. Together, we can do more.
