C.I.R.C.L.E. For Epilepsy - Community Investing in Research, Care & Learning for Epilepsy
C.I.R.C.L.E for EPILEPSY was founded in 2013 by a long time sufferer, Jackson Peddy, and a few close friends, with one goal in mind - to help those who are effected by epilepsy. 1 in 26 people in the United States will develop epilepsy at some point in their lifetime, 2.2 million people in the United States and more than 65 million people worldwide have epilepsy and over 150,000 new cases of epilepsy are diagnosed in the United States annually. It's time for us all to work together to make a difference.
Living with Epilepsy is about much more than just having seizures. For those affected by Epilepsy, as I am, the disorder is often defined in practical terms, such as challenges in school, uncertainties about social and employment situations, limitations on everyday activities, and questions about independent living. At the same time, we are faced with health care and community services that are often fragmented, uncoordinated, and difficult to obtain.
Jackson Peddy has had 3 brain surgeries and been on all but one medication passed by the FDA (the last one has a 30% chance of causing peripheral blindness). In the last year Jackson has decided to really focus as hard as possible to turn a negative to a positive.
Thank you all for your donations.
