BENEFITING: City Kids to Wilderness Project
EVENT DATE: Apr 28, 2016
John and I have supported City Kids for the past couple of years and we believe in the transformative power of their programming that instills City Kids youth with leadership, resiliency and fundamental skills for success. The have an unfaltering mission to improve the lives of DC youth through their programming.
City Kids believes in DC youth. And we do too.
City Kids Wilderness Project provides enriching outdoor adventure and career exploration programming that engages youth from 6th to 12th grade and beyond. City Kids was founded in 1996 on the belief that providing enriching life experiences for under-resourced DC youth can enhance their lives, the lives of their families and the greater community.
City Kids will serve over 130 youth in 2016. Of the youth that completed their high school program in the last three years:
- 96% graduated from high school, 4% completed their GED
- 82% enrolled in college, the military or vocational training
In comparison, the high school graduation rate for DC is less than 61%.
City Kids Wilderness Project’s 20th Anniversary Spring Benefit will bring together our donors, students, and the whole City Kids community for an evening of celebration. Please join us at the beautiful Josephine Butler Parks Center for cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a brief program, and reflections on how far City Kids has come and how much more we can do with your support.
Thursday, April 28th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the Josephine Butler Parks Center, 2437 15th Street, NW, Washington, DC.
Festive Casual Attire, Drinks and Hors d’oeuvres, Valet Parking Available.
City Kids Wilderness Project is celebrating our 20th Anniversary! Join us to help make the next 20 years just as incredible!
