EVENT DATE: Nov 06, 2016
I'm back, roaring and ready to raise funds for feeding and visiting NYC's homebound and disabled elderly via Citymeals-on-Wheels! ... And not to forget- running my second NYC Marathon, on November 6, 2016!
Last years marathon was one of the very best things I ever did for myself, while helping Citymeals-on-Wheels at the same time. The marathon was a wonderfully exhilarating experience. Actually, a whole journey from the moment one year earlier when I decided to run it until crossing the finish line, with a smile of success that probably stretched from river to river!
I've kept up my running over this past winter and ran the NYC Half Marathon (March 2016) as a byproduct of keeping in shape. I learned from the marathon and was able to improve my planning and technique, greatly improving my timing as well.
Remember that donations to Citymeals-on-Wheels shows that we care about the face of our society and the security of our city's homebound and hungry elderly. Running 26.2 miles takes a lot of preparation and gives deep satisfaction. Donating to Citymeals-on-Wheels gives even much more satisfaction to many more people without all that preparation on your side. ... I'll do the training, preparation, and running, but please donate!
THANK YOU !
Citymeals on Wheels provides a continuous lifeline of nourishing meals and vital companionship to New York City’s homebound elderly. Each year, Citymeals prepares and delivers over 2 million weekend, holiday and emergency meals for more than 18,000 of our frail aged neighbors.
100% of all public donations will be used entirely for the preparation and delivery of meals, thanks to the generosity of our Board of Directors, the City of New York, sponsors and other designated gifts.
