This year, for the first time, the City to Sea half marathon benefits San Luis Obispo County's Sexual Assault Recovery and Prevention Center (SARP). This will be my second time running the race, and since I survived last year, I figure I can do it again. But this time, I can feel good about raising money for charity while getting my butt kicked on the race course. :)
As a Board member for SARP, I am deeply committed to contributing to its mission to transform the lives of sexual assault survivors and their families in any way I can. The Center's funding comes 100% from grants and donations from supporters. Unfortunately, in tough economic times like these, our grant funding is being cut and we fear more cuts may be on the way.
My goal is to raise $500, and I need your help to ensure that the Center is able to continue serving survivors and raising awareness about sexual assault in our community. Every donation helps!!
