BENEFITING: PROJECT EDUCATION SUDAN
Citywide Banks is proudly sponsoring this summer's Climb for Sudan Project in Colorado. Inspired by the “Lost Boys" of Sudan thousand mile journey across three countries, two climbers, Joe Rogers and Nick Spivey will summit Colorado’s 58 14,000 foot mountains over the course of 70 days, to raise $100,000 for the people of Southern Sudan. You can help Citywide Banks raise money by clicking the DONATE button on the top right of page. All donations collected through this site will go to the Climb for Sudan Project.
South Sudan's first day of independence as a brand new nation is on July 9th. So the "Lost Boys" of Sudan will join the climb team that day on Mt. Evans for a day of celebration during the climb of hope, inspiration and dedication. Over the 70 days following, the climbers will continue to make their way through Colorado and summit the remaining 14,000 foot peaks, driving to the base of each peak in a really cool car with our sponsors' logos!
All of the money raised, aside from a few expenses, will be used to build classrooms and dormitories in South Sudan. It's key for them to build the dormitories and the classrooms, because it is too far for the children to walk home and to school every day. Ultimately, the money raised will see that all children of South Sudan receive an education so they may emerge as leaders of their new nation.
Oh, and did we already mention that through organizations collaborating with Project Education Sudan, latrines and water systems will also be built in the villages where the schools are?
