City Year Boston is thrilled to be a chosen charity for the 2017 John Hancock Non-Profit Marathon Program! Our team members will be lacing up their sneakers to support the 265 City Year Americorps members serving students in twenty-one public schools in our community.
At City Year, we’re working in high-need and high-risk communities to bridge the gap between the support that students need and what their schools are designed to provide. In doing so, we're helping to increase graduation rates across the country, and making an impact in the lives of the students we serve.
In Boston, our AmeriCorps members work each day with more than 10,000 students in grades three through nine, serving as tutors, mentors, and role models for the students who need it most. By focusing on attendance, behavior, and course performance, AmeriCorps members are uniquely positioned to help students reach their full potential.
We encourage you to get to know our runners and read about their inspiring reasons for supporting City Year’s work. If you are moved to make a donation, please know how much we appreciate your investment and support. We hope you will join us in cheering on the City Year team on April 17, 2017!
